Recent Projects
My most recent series of monoprints was inspired by shadows cast by stainless steel mixer balls.
My Process: Separate polyester lithography plate were drawn and hand printed, using a wooden spoon. The shadow shapes were cut from rubylith film and exposed onto a silkscreen, using photo emulsion. The transparent shadows were then screen printed over the lithographic prints.
Each individual print is 22"x30". Twelve prints are mounted together as a 'wall quilt'. The full display is 90" tall x 88" wide.

ABOUT ME
Printmaker and Professor
- MFA in Printmaking from Northern Illinois University
- BFA in Drawing and Printmaking from Aquinas College, Grand Rapids, MI
I enjoy making prints using traditional printmaking media like lithography, intaglio, screen printing, monoprinting and relief, and I've worked hard to find non-toxic alternatives to the traditionally toxic printmaking materials like nitric acid, lacquers and petroleum-based solvents.
I occasionally offer non-toxic printmaking workshops at the following locations:
- Multnomah Arts Center, Portland, OR
- Ash Creek Arts Center, Independence, OR
- Sitka Center for Art and Ecology, Otis, OR (near Lincoln City, OR)
